01 Carol Anne

Hey, everyone!

October is upon us, and that means it’s time to get into the holiday “spirit” of Halloween! Samhain is my favorite time of year, and to celebrate I’m drawing one horror icon every day up to October 31st.

Our first drawing is of Carol Anne Freeling from the 1982 film Poltergeist. The story of Carol Anne’s journey thought the spirit world is a terrifying one, made even more upsetting by the tragedy that the actress, Heather O’Rourke, suffered in real life.

Poltergeist was ahead of its time both in narrative and scope. Two lackluster sequels followed it, and a remake was released this year to ho-hum fanfare. It wasn’t a terrible film, but it brought nothing new or special to the franchise. The original still holds up to this day.

This original hand-drawn piece is on 8.5×11 bristol paper and is a one-of-a-kind item. I’m offering it up for sale for $40.00 with free shipping! If interested, please email me at jessedurona@gmail.com! Be sure to check in tomorrow for the next piece!
